What Is Your 7?
My friend and some times expedition partner, Ryan Waters arrived in Boulder on Wednesday night after a long travel day which originated in Olso, Norway. Colorado is only short layover as we are gearing up now and then flying to Seattle tomorrow for seven climbing adventures in the Pacific Northwest.
Our goal is to climb seven peaks in an effort to raise $7,000 (7 for 7k) for the non profit organization Big City Mountaineers over a 9 or 10 day period. Big City Mountaineers provides critical life skills to under-resourced urban youth through their mentor led wilderness expeditions. From providing opportunities to push and challenge personal limits to fostering an sense of stewardship for our environment, I sincerely believe in the many benefits of wilderness travel, and therefore, am excited to be helping raise money for such a worthy cause.
My effort to climb seven peaks? It's definitely not about breaking any records or putting up new climbing routes. Rather, it is about spending time outside engaged in a fun self funded challenge and doing seven simple things to try help out a good cause and make the world a better place.
But equally important, I want to know more about your seven. What seven things can you do to change the world? Just like my climb, they don't have to be life altering events, just seven simples things to help out. Seven days. Seven things. One week - that's all I'm asking.
What is your 7?
